KARACHI: Governor Kamran Tesori of Sindh has given his approval to the nomination of Justice (Retired) Maqbool Baqir as the Caretaker Chief Minister of Sindh. The official notification for this appointment has already been released.
The name of Justice (Retired) Maqbool Baqir was proposed by Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and opposition leader Rana Ansar, and it was presented to the Sindh Governor.
Sources indicate that the swearing-in ceremony for the new Caretaker Chief Minister of Sindh is scheduled for August 16.
In a prior meeting between the Sindh Chief Minister and Opposition Leader Rana Ansar, an agreement was reached on appointing retired Justice Maqbool Baqir to the position of Caretaker Chief Minister.
Both Opposition Leader Rana Ansar and the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) have lent their support to the nomination of Justice (Retired) Maqbool Baqir as the caretaker Chief Minister.
Sindh Governor Kamran Tesori has confirmed discussing this matter with Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) leader Sibghatullah Rashidi.
