ISLAMABAD: On Sunday night, the suburbs of Rawalpindi, including Islamabad, experienced a significant downpour of heavy rain.

The heavy rain persisted until late at night, leading to the accumulation of water on roads and low-lying areas, creating pond-like conditions on some roads.

Showers occurred intermittently throughout the day, with a particularly intense rainfall, accompanied by thunder and lightning, around midnight.

Unfortunately, the lack of drain cleaning exacerbated the situation, resulting in dirty water flowing on roads and streets.

The cantonment area also faced overflowing drains due to the heavy rainfall, causing disruptions in vehicular movement.
