ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court of Pakistan’s Justice Ayesha Malik honored with an honorary doctorate degree from the University of London for her exceptional services in the field of law and justice, the honor was conferred on April 28, 2025, at a prestigious ceremony held in the UK.

The Chancellor of the University of London recognized Justice Ayesha Malik for her prominent contributions to the field of law in Pakistan, where she made history as the first female judge of the Supreme Court.

The ceremony was attended by several distinguished personalities, including Vice-Chancellor Wendy Thomson, Dean Andrew Griffiths, and Regional Head for South Asia Saad Wasim.

In its speech, the university praised Justice Ayesha Malik for her strong skills, fair way of working, and support for more women in the courts.

Justice Ayesha Malik, who holds an LL.M. degree from Harvard University, brings over 28 years of extensive experience in the legal field.

She was appointed as a judge in the Lahore High Court in 2012, consistently delivering judgements that uphold standards of fairness and equity.

The University of London’s award not only celebrates Justice Ayesha Malik’s personal success but also shows strong support for the role of women in Pakistan’s courts around the world.
