KARACHI: The Sindh government has declared February 14, 2025, a holiday for schools and other educational institutions across the province, including Karachi and Hyderabad, in observance of Shab-e-Barat, which falls on the 15th night of the Islamic month of Shaban.
Educational institutions under the administrative control of Sindh’s schools and college departments will remain closed on Friday, February 14.
A notification for the public holiday mentioned that it was issued in accordance with decisions made by the Sindh sub-committee of the steering committee on education.
Shab-e-Barat, considered a holy night between the 14th and 15th of Shaban, is a time for Muslims to seek forgiveness from Allah.

Special religious gatherings will take place across the country, with people also visiting graveyards to offer prayers at the graves of their loved ones.
