Sindh police to launch “data bank” for stolen vehicle records

KARACHI: Sindh Police has decided to establish a data bank to collect records of stolen and missing vehicles, as well as the accused.

A statement issued by the Sindh Police spokesperson said that a review meeting was held under the chairmanship of the IG Sindh regarding stolen, missing, and snatched vehicles, during which it was also decided to take action against scrap dealers involved in buying and selling stolen goods.

According to the Sindh Police spokesperson, it has been decided to establish a data bank to compile records of stolen and missing vehicles, as well as the accused. The data will be entered into the app with the help of the CPLC, police, Special Branch, and other institutions.

In this regard, the DIG Special Branch stated that action has been taken against 912 scrap dealers since January 1.

Meanwhile, CPLC Chief Zubair Habib also mentioned in the meeting that there has been a clear decrease in crimes this year compared to last year.

The credit for this decrease goes to the effective policing of the Sindh Police. The Additional IG Karachi further noted that the crime data of the police and CPLC is more or less authentic.
