LAHORE: Lahore’s School Education Department plans to introduce a WhatsApp learning initiative for teachers and parents in government schools.
As per private tv channel report, the initiative, conducted in partnership with UNICEF, will first roll out in 10 schools in Lahore. The training aims to improve education in public schools. The Education Authority also asked schools to give a list of teachers and parents who want to join the training.
The decision came after Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz approved a program to reorganize public schools, focusing on improving government schools across the province.
The Punjab chief minister announced a target to construct and rehabilitate 1,000 grounds of government schools within six months.
Maryam has asked government schools to start weekly and monthly competitions. She also wants to map all schools in Punjab to see what they need to improve.
She also urged for a plan to formalize the employment of 14,000 AEOs (Assistant Education Officers) and SSEs (Secondary School Educators) in Punjab.
On the other hand, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has announced plans to distribute free solar panels to 100,000 needy households in the province.
In an interview with a foreign media outlet, Advisor to the CM on Finance, Muzammil Aslam mentioned that the provincial government would also supply a complete setup of two kilowatts including batteries, DC fans, and inverters.
