Earlier this month, a blast in the same district left 11 people injured, including Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) leader Hafiz Hamdullah.

Additionally, a Levies official was fatally shot at a bus stand by unidentified assailants a week prior, injuring two bystanders. In May of this year, unidentified attackers targeted a polio vaccination team on the outskirts of Mastung in the Killi Sour Karez area, resulting in the death of a police officer.

In October of the previous year, a bomb attack targeting two vehicles in the mountainous area of Qabu in Mastung led to three fatalities and six injuries.

Furthermore, in July 2018, a devastating suicide blast in the same district claimed the lives of at least 128 people, including politician Nawabzada Siraj Raisani, while over 200 others were injured.
