Federal Government College Teachers Pin Hopes on New FDE Chief

ISLAMABAD  The Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) has seen a ray of hope with the recent appointment of Amjad Ahmed as its new Chief.

Simultaneously serving as a joint secretary at the Ministry of Federal Education & Professional Training (MOF­E&PT), Ahmed’s assumption of the leadership position has sparked optimism among federal government college teachers.

These educators are looking forward to prompt resolutions to long-standing challenges that have plagued the education system.

Professor Tasneem Akhter Mir, Vice President of the Federal Government College Teachers Association (FGCTA), shared her concerns about the struggling BS programmes and Associate Degree Programmes in colleges. Expressing optimism, she believes that Ahmed’s tenure will bring a renewed focus on advancing higher education and addressing the existing issues.

Dr Nazir Ahmed Bhutta, the general secretary of FGCTA, emphasized the importance of a merit-based approach in seniority-based appointments of principals. He expressed hope that the new FDE Chief would uphold the value of seniority while ensuring that deserving candidates take up leadership positions.

The appointment of Amjad Ahmed as the new FDE Chief marks a crucial turning point for federal government college teachers who eagerly anticipate positive changes and efficient solutions under his leadership. The educational community remains hopeful that Ahmed will play a pivotal role in ushering a new era of progress and development in the realm of higher education.
