LONDON/LAHORE: Pakistan’s star all-rounder Shadab Khan underwent shoulder surgery in London on Friday and is expected to miss upcoming international matches, including the home series against West Indies and Bangladesh. His participation in the Asia Cup also remains uncertain, as full recovery may take two to three months.
According to sources, Shadab had been dealing with shoulder pain for some time, which affected his ability to throw and bowl effectively. The issue worsened during the recent home series against Bangladesh, where he reportedly struggled while bowling googlies. While vacationing in England, an MRI scan revealed the severity of the injury, prompting doctors to recommend immediate surgery.
The 26-year-old cricketer was recently appointed vice-captain to Salman Ali Agha during the tours of New Zealand and Bangladesh. In the recent three-match series against Bangladesh, he took four wickets and scored 55 runs in two innings. However, due to the surgery, he will not be part of Pakistan’s upcoming tour to Bangladesh.
