LAHORE: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has recorded a 44% increase in revenue during the last fiscal year, collecting around Rs27 billion — the highest in its history. This achievement comes under the direction of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, who aims to financially strengthen public institutions.
According to LDA officials, this growth was made possible through the efforts of Director General Tahir Farooq. Compared to the fiscal year 2023-24, the Authority earned Rs8.1 billion more in 2024-25.
LDA earned Rs7.5 billion through land auctions and sales alone. In total, it held four auctions and three balloting events during the year.
The Town Planning Wing also played a major role by generating Rs12 billion, which is Rs4 billion more than the previous year. For the first time, it collected Rs1 billion in penalties from illegal commercial activities.
