LAHORE: Several cities in Punjab, including the provincial capital Lahore, experienced light earthquake tremors on Monday morning. According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, the magnitude of the earthquake was recorded at 4.4 on the Richter scale.
The tremors were felt at around 11:39am in areas including Lahore, Kasur, Okara, Sheikhupura, Nankana Sahib, Muridke, and Kamoki. The quake originated from the southwest of Lahore at a depth of 14 kilometers.
Residents came out of their homes and offices, although no damage or injuries were reported.
The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) stated that teams have been directed to inspect buildings across Punjab. Machinery and staff have been placed on alert in case of aftershocks.

It is worth noting that in recent weeks, Karachi and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan have also experienced repeated tremors. While earthquakes are less frequent in Punjab, the latest seismic activity has been felt across multiple cities in the province.
