ISLAMABAD – The National Highway Authority (NHA) made history by holding the country’s first-ever public auction of toll plazas at the Jinnah Convention Center, Islamabad. A total of 68 toll plazas from across Pakistan were auctioned in an open and transparent process.
Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan visited the venue and observed the proceedings. NHA Chairman personally supervised the event. The auction began at 10:30 am and attracted a large number of investors and businessmen.
The purpose of the public auction was to create fair business opportunities through a transparent system. To ensure transparency, the NHA invited print and electronic media to witness the process and ran a wide-reaching publicity campaign ahead of the event.

The toll plazas auctioned are located on major highways in different regions, including Jamshoro, Saeedabad, Moro, Kandiaro, Ranipur, Rohri, Sadiqabad, Ahmedpur East, Bahawalpur, Khanewal, Pattoki, Kalashah Kaku, Okara (ETTM), Gujranwala, Jhelum, Mandra, Iqbal Shaheed, Qutabpur, Sultan Bahoo Bridge, Talibwala Bridge, Koza Banda, Karachi Northern Bypass, Nowshera, Mansehra, Hassanabdal, Makran Coastal Highway, Chowk Sarwar, and Fatehpur.
Minister Abdul Aleem Khan appreciated the efforts of NHA officials and congratulated them on successfully completing the historic public auction.
