ISLAMABAD: Imran Mazari and former National Assembly member Ali Wazir were arrested from Islamabad.
Former MNA Ali Wazir was arrested from Tarnol. According to Islamabad police, he has been arrested for interfering with the government.
Imaan Mazari, the daughter of former federal minister Shireen Mazari and a human rights activist, was arrested from her residence.
Shireen Mazari claimed through a tweet, “Just now, lady police and individuals in plain clothes broke the front door of our house and took my daughter with them. They also took our home security cameras, my daughter’s laptop, and mobile.”
According to Shireen Mazari, they dragged her daughter away. Before that, they had roamed around the whole house. My daughter was dressed in a nightgown. She said, “Let me change my clothes,” but they dragged her away.
They did not have any warrants, nor did they take legal action to effect the arrests. This is state fascism. Remember that only the two of us women live in the house. This is a case of kidnapping.
On the other hand, Islamabad Police has confirmed the arrest of Iman Mazari. Police say she was arrested from her home.
