Meta announced that WhatsApp Business has surpassed 200 million monthly users, a significant increase from the 50 million users recorded in 2020.

WhatsApp Business, a messaging app designed for small businesses, aims to boost Meta’s revenue through the platform. In addition, Meta is rolling out new features for WhatsApp Business.

One of these features allows users to create click-to-WhatsApp ads without needing a Facebook account. This enables users to create, sell, and post ads for Facebook and Instagram directly within the app. Another feature being introduced is a personalized message service for WhatsApp Business users, allowing them to send customized messages to their customers.

However, this feature will come with a fee, although the specifics have not been disclosed by the company. It is worth noting that Meta has been actively pursuing monetization strategies for paid messaging in recent months, including introducing various messaging categories in WhatsApp Business. In the first quarter of the year, Meta reported earning $10 billion through click-to-message advertising.
