ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) is embarking on an ambitious plan to enhance the recreational facilities for residents by developing a number of modern parks in the federal capital, according to official sources.

Over the past decade, the civic authority has successfully established approximately 37 public parks, and it is now devising a policy to further expand their numbers in the years to come. “We need three to four months to develop a new park, following the completion of the necessary formalities,” stated a representative from the Capital Development Authority.

Currently, the federal capital boasts six amusement parks, which are deemed adequate to cater to the recreational needs of Islamabad’s inhabitants.
However, a new policy has been formulated to construct an amusement park alongside every new sector that is developed.
This strategic approach aims to ensure that residents have access to enhanced recreational opportunities as the city expands.

The Capital Development Authority has already begun the development of several new sectors, including I-11, I-12, I-14, I-15, I-16, D-12, and Park Enclave.
Additionally, model villages and parks are being constructed in these areas. “Once these regions are fully developed and completed, the new parks will be readily available to fulfill the demand and requirements of the general public, in accordance with the Capital Development Authority’s approved layout plan,” affirmed the sources.

With the progressive plans underway, Islamabad is poised to witness a significant enhancement in its green spaces and recreational amenities, elevating the quality of life for its residents.
