ISLAMABAD: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has decided to install automated machines for the convenience of citizens. Now, it has become easier to make any kind of change to the identity card.
As per media report, a self-service kiosk will be installed in Karachi to renew smart national identity cards and obtain lost identity cards. This will allow any citizen to benefit from it automatically without long queues and extended waits.
Initially, the self-service kiosks will be installed in NADRA mega centers and later at airports, railway stations, and shopping malls.
NADRA Assistant Director Ammar Haider says that the self-service kiosk was unveiled through an ideas exhibition.
Now, in the next phase, there will be some trial stages of this automated system, after which it will be installed in a mega center in the city.

He said that its installation in Karachi will be the first of its kind. However, in other cities of the country, this self-service kiosk has already been installed at the Mega Center in Islamabad.
Ammar Haider added that through the self-service kiosk, any citizen will be able to renew their identity cards after completing 8 to 9 different data steps.
The process begins with the entry of national identity card information through the kiosk keyboard, followed by biometric verification, iris scanning, and photo capture. Additionally, the user will receive a QR code after selecting the option for urgent or normal service.
