LAHORE: Punjab government has announced free travel facilities for individuals with special needs on the Orange Line Train and Metro Bus.
A spokesperson for the Metro Bus Authority said individuals with a Himmat Card can benefit from free travel on the Metro Bus service and the Orange Line train. They can obtain tickets free of charge by showing their Himmat Card at the ticket counter.
This travel facility for special individuals will be available seven days a week. The administration stated that those who present the Himmat Card will receive full free travel benefits.
The Himmat Card is a package of various services offered by the government to people with disabilities.
At present, the government has also announced a quarterly stipend of Rs.10,500 for needy disabled persons.
Earlier this month, Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz launched another initiative for farmers’ welfare, the Green Tractor Scheme, and conducted the digital balloting for the program.

What is Himmat Card?
The Himmat Card is a package of different services offered by Government to PWD’s. At present moment, the government has announced provision of quarterly stipend of amount Rs. 10500 to needy PWD’s. Later on, any other service announced by the Government for PWDs will be provided through the Himmat Card.
Eligibility Criteria for Himmat Card:
- PWD should be certified from Social Welfare Punjab
- PWD should be NOT FIT TO WORK
- PWD should not be employed in government or private office
- PWD should not have taken recently any grant from Bait ul Maal, Zakat Fund, PSPA, BISP etc
- PMT score issued by BISP should not exceed than 45.
- PWD basic data should be updated in the DPMIS (CNIC, Address, Mobile no, education & experience etc).
